I am an assistant professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program and a member at the WINC research center at Nile University, and the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) department at Alexandria University, Egypt. Previously, I was a senior research engineer at Samsung Semiconductors, Inc. I obtained my Ph.D from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where I was a member of the ARNI lab. My PhD advisor was Prof. Christina Fragouli.
Please check out the cool research projects listed below which I am currently working on. Please send me an email if you are interested in working with me on any of these projects!
Using AI and data-driven solutions, I'd like to make communication networks smatly and autonomously optimize itself to the dynamics of the environment.
Communications theory, machine-learning, reinforcement learning, optimization.
Cars of the future will be self-driving. With no input from drivers, how can we ensure that those cars can operate smoothly with no danger to the passengers and the surroundings? I want to see how communications can help this system work.
Communications theory, machine-learning, optimization, computer vision.
How can we help in situations of disaster? I want to see how UAVs can help rescue teams get in better touch with survivors until successful rescue.
Communications theory, networks, reinforcement learning, optimization.
Can AI help us design better coding techniques?
Communications theory, coding theory, machine-learning, optimization.
